Clay is the origin, inspiration and embodiment of our products. Without it, the production of ceramic building materials would not be possible. Thanks to geological surveys, a clay quarry in Liepa was discovered in 1957, which is when LODE started. The Devonian clay mine, which extends to a depth of 12 metres, is truly unique – only two other places in the world have a clay layer as thick as this. And the clay is known as the gold of the earth because of its great value. And LODE’s craftsmen care for it like a jeweller cares for his precious stone – getting to know every nuance of the clay, working it, polishing it and polishing it, revealing and highlighting its multifaceted qualities. Qualities that have been built up over 385 million years, giving clay its very unique character. Combined with innovative technologies and the latest scientific discoveries, we create products that meet ever-growing demands and rapidly changing market trends.

LEADING MANUFACTURER OF CERAMIC BUILDING MATERIALS IN THE BALTICS
LODE ceramic building materials factory has been operating in Liepa, Cēsis region, since 1958. Originally built to produce drainage pipes, it was in 1968 that the production of clay bricks began, which, thanks to their high quality and high demand, continues to this day. Today, the company has two production sites, in Liepa and Aene. Bricks, paving and finishing elements are produced from the adjacent clay quarry in Liepa, while KERATERM building blocks have been produced since 2006 in Ane, near Jelgava. Today, LODE is the leading manufacturer of ceramic building materials in the Baltics, selling its products in Latvia, Scandinavia, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia and elsewhere.
