Three important rules must be taken into account when fixing KERATERM masonry. Very often customers ask how to fix dowels correctly in KERATERM blocks and which dowels to use for KERATERM blocks. This video explains exactly.
- When drilling holes for fasteners, the drilling machine must be used in drilling mode only (no percussion-drilling mode). Otherwise, the edges of the bore hole may be chipped out in the internal partitions of the block and the dowels will not be able to lock firmly in the bore hole. Of course, a sharp drill designed for masonry must be used;
- The dowel cores must be screwable, or in practice they must have screws corresponding to the dowels, and they must also be screwed in with a screwdriver rather than driven in with a hammer;
- For reinforcement in KRATERM masonry, dowels suitable for perforated bricks and/or perforated ceramic blocks must be selected.
