Surrounded by a park and numerous historical landmarks, the four-star “Radisson Blu Ridzene Hotel” stands in the center of Riga. This building, constructed in 1984, features the characteristic deep brown, lush color reminiscent of strong coffee, rich chocolate, and rain-soaked wood bark of our ASAIS BRUNIS bricks. The scratch-textured finishing bricks are long-lasting, resilient, and impart an elegant appearance to the building’s façade.
The hotel exemplifies how the apparent dullness, monolithic nature, and even sterile feeling of dominant modernism in architecture were replaced by the inclined forms, playfulness, and variety of materials characteristic of postmodernism. We are delighted that our bricks have played a role in introducing new architectural trends to Latvia.
